  4. Hildemar Says:
perhaps with all the PC police the fans of Warner Brothers cartoons, specifically, prefer to watch the DVD collections because 99.9% of the cartoons on the collections are un-cut and un-censored. i've read some reviews where buyers get a bit picky and point out an obscure flaw/edit but for the most part the DVD's are filled with un-censored Looney Tunes glory. I've got several of the Golden Collections...don't have all of them, though. I have Volume 1, 3, and 4. The ones on TV are edited down.
  5. FREYA Says:
you're right as of now...they seem to go in cycles like TV Land or Nick-at-Nite. they, meaning Boomerang, showcase classics and vintage cartoons for about a season or a season and a half then pull them off and put up something else from the past. the network favors Hanna-Barbera now but they did offer Warner Brothers cartoons as well...i'm sure it's only a matter of time before they pull off some of the H-B cartoons for WB. the WB cartoons are on those spotlight DVD's too...
  6. Palti Says:
except that they don't show ANY Warner Brothers cartoons (bugs, daffy etc)
  7. Dion Says:
i remember this cartoon growing up in the 80s but i assumed they would be never be shown again based on the portrayal of women as "bad drivers". its not PC but its damn funny.
  8. Kristine Says:

  16. Bardo Says:
i'm one of the fortunate ones who has Boomerang and that is where all of these cartoons have been sent to. their slogan "it's all coming back to you" refers to classics that have been removed from network television, originally sent to Cartoon Network, then they sent them to Boomerang where they've been ever since.
  17. POL Says:
yes, this cartoon is from the legendary director, Tex Avery, who brought Droopy to life and Red Hot Riding Hood/Swing Shift Cinderella/Little Rural Riding Hood. this was in a series of cartoons spoofing the future...there are others which are here on You Tube, "House of Tomorrow", "Farm of Tomorrow". The ACME Hour was a series composed of classic cartoons from Warner Brothers and MGM...not a lot of people realize that all of those Looney Tunes we watched growing up were made in the 40s and 50s.
  18. Wahkan Says:
    Aww, good old fashioned sexism.
  19. Devent Says:
This is an actual 50s cartoon. I remember seeing it when they used to show the old WB and MGM cartoons on Saturday morning.
  20. Rosemarie Says:

I wonder if this would be today considered politically incorrect by feminist activists.
