  1. Garion Says:
I absolutely love James Blunt's work... And seeing this live, it's just incredible. He is one of the only artists I've seen putting so much passion and feeling into his work. Breathtaking.
  2. BETZALEL Says:
Probably war and like fairy206 said,, the death and horror it brings.. he was a soldier himself, so i think he was suffering from that too and wrote this song to just get his emotions out..Like fairy said aswell :P
  3. Cory Says:
This is such a powerful anti-war song. War's like Iraq must be very demoralizing for the soldiers involved. You have to wonder about the Bush regime and how many of them made money from the sale of armaments.
  4. AWINITA Says:
oh very sad ! love james ! palestiniens , iraqiens are suffering because of israel and usa !
  5. Maunfeld Says:
    THE BEST EVER!!!!!
  6. Dannell Says:
Everything he says is so true ..
  7. ZAC Says:
    self reflection
  8. Stosh Says:
I don't see him referring to a specific political figure, making the song that much more universal. Of course in his service in Kosovo he was probably writing, thinking of someone in particular. But he probably omits it, making us all think of how often this happens, and everywhere in the world. Everyone is to blame. We are 'he'
  9. MAYMUNAH Says:
    the devil
  10. Dameon Says:
yeah quiet possible i get that it can be interpreted as a metaphore for any atrocities of war or its leaders or perhaps even "man" himself but what I was intending to ask is whether he might be referring to a certain political figure at the time?
  11. Felicia Says:
    death, horror, suffering.
  12. More Says:
anyone know who he means by "he" in "since he's been here"
  13. Emery Says:
a better job?from what?why your country attacked a free country? i dont understand and milions of people in the world not understantd it too..!!! from where you get the RIGHTS to atttack a FREE COUNTRY!!!countries like afganistan, iraq, and will be iran...Izrael is allmost everyday attacking palestine and will attack forever!!!because they have the rights from terrorist organizations like US..and UN and NATO...stupid people need to wake up!!Yes USA in the eyes of the world is a terrorist state
  14. Corbett Says:
You need to check the facts, dude! There was a whole bunch of conditions speaking against an invasion, but Bush still did it. The end result is still in motion. They wanted to turn iraq into a western civilization with a democratic rularship. But instead they've got more trouble on their hands than they did with Hussain. I don't doubt Bush's intentions where eligible, but the result as of now it horrid!
  15. AFRICA Says:
See how he can barely hold back the tears and anger in him when he sings this. I Love you James Blunt
  16. LLEW Says:
j'adore la rage qu'il met dans ses mots a la fin....
  17. ORLAN Says:
It is indeed about Kosovo and his memories from his time serving as a British Army Officer there. My eyes well up when I hear it but for me the memories are of Iraq and not Kosovo.
  18. Araina Says:
I agree with you. Right now, it looks like Bush did horribly, and yet, i would like to see anyone of all of those people who hate him, get in office and try to do a better job. He is blamed and called stupid for going into Iraq looking for weps. of mass destruction, but would you rather we hadnt gone in and that there ended up being weps. of mass destruction? He can only work off what is given to him.
  19. GRIFFITH Says:
A word of congratulations to the violinist's sensitive and beautiful addition to this amazing song.
  20. NANTRES Says:
Um soldado que transformou suas experiências e tristezas em lindas músicas. Grande cara!!!!!!!!!!!!
  21. Blagdan Says:
it just came to me... I think james trys not to cry when he sings these kinds of songs...
  22. Lamar Says:
The song remains the same - but clarly these lyrics work for the madness in Kosova. You might as well say that the war poem Dulce est.. " applies to any war. But it is all the more powerful becuase the poem clearly comes from the quite particular horrors of the first world war. The song without some understanding of Kosovo - Bosnia just doesn't make sense for me.
  23. MacGowan Says:
    one word passion
  24. BRICRIU Says:
Kosovo in 99 was hell, listen to his words and look at his eyes. You can try and make it into something else if it suits your personal politics, but you would be lying. He's singing about what hell feels like from firsthand experience.
  25. OMPHALE Says:
how the man doesn't cry is amazing! such sad words! Unicef declared 24,500 children between the ages of 0-4 die every single day! what are we doing world?
