   uhhh... yadsik? Have you done any research? Urgyen Trinley has pledged allegiance to Beijing and was educated there for parts of 2 years (whether or not this was entirely voluntary is of course speculative)

   No, but he has the merit and the accumulated karma from his past lives which allow him to cultivate many many times faster than any ordinary practitioner of Buddhism. He can attain the understanding of his past lives in about a third of the time it would take your or I. There are many cases however, when a young reincarnated lama can remember his past life vividly without meditating.

    True 17th Karmapa is H.H Thaye Dorje. Urgyen Thinley Dorje is People's Republic of China substitute.

    My my... such vitriol. This is however, not untypical from what I have observed out of both Dalai Lama and Urgyen Trinley supporters. I seem to recall something in Buddhist writings about being able to tell something about the guru by the actions of his followers... food for thought!

    I have no doubt in my heart that he is the real one. I had the fortune to be in his presence in 1995 when I visited Tsurphu monastry. Even at such a young age, he was so composed and he had a strength in his eyes that makes you unable to hold his gaze for long. So much grace!!!

    The enthronement took place without the seal of approval of Shamar Rinpoche , the active head of the Karma Kagyu lineage. Shamar Rinpoche has repeatedly pointed out to H.H. the Dalai Lama the glaring improprieties in the case and urged him to stay out of what is a strictly Kagyu issue.
